Data processing volunteers make a vital contribution to the work of TWIC by mobilising data for conservation use. If you have good Excel skills, an eye for detail and are interested in gaining experience working in the conservation sector, we have plenty of data processing tasks we need help with.
How you can help
As a volunteer you will help process biological records into TWIC’s Recorder 6 database. Datasets come from a variety of sources, including data from online recording schemes such as iRecord.
Applicants must be competent in using Excel, have an eye for detail and be able to work well as part of a small team. An ecology-related degree and a good knowledge of the UK flora or other species group would be an advantage.
We ask volunteers to commit a minimum of 1 day a week to volunteering. In return we can offer training where needed and can cover reasonable mileage expenses (@ 45p per mile) or bus fares.
